True Event:
I hear our societal cries in the wilderness in my mind as I sleep. I waked up in the middle of the night once screaming:
“WHO ARE YOU!?”
I thought I had seen someone in my master bedroom. After I yelled for him to explain himself, he answered that he was a squatter and that he had rights to takeover my house:
Yes, it was pretty scary. To this day, I don’t know if I was dreaming or if it was real.
Thinking back about the experience, perhaps I was expressing a mysterious fear we may all have had at sometime in our lives and at some level. I have no idea at who or what I was screaming, and in retrospect whether he was even real. But, it happened more than once.
The second time I saw the image, I realized it really was a squatting bum. I asked him what he was doing here. He said he had no place to lay his head and my place is often unoccupied. “Did you know how easy it was for me to jimmy your back door?” He explained that he had jimmied my back door to come and go as he pleased when I was asleep or had traveled on business. To his initial surprise, while my doors and windows it was rigged for an intruder alarm system, it never went off...it wasn’t connected, to save money. And besides, I did not think I was gone so much and I was sure my close-by, neighbors, who I knew and well like, would surely report the break-in by an unknown intruder to authorities.
I saw he had dropped his bedroll on the upstairs landing, where he had slept so he could keep his eye on whether I had come back. All I could think of was, “Gee, you didn’t even sleep on any of the two beds up there that are always made up and empty,” I thought silently.
I told him that I had a couple of rooms upstairs that I almost never use. I shrugged my shoulders and said, “I can’t sleep in more than one place at a time, you’re welcome to use one over night. But, if you please after you get something to eat and wash up a little, I can try to help you find a shelter that will welcome you with open arms.”
My neighborhood backed up to regularly used railroad thoroughfare and we had a few reports that bums were helping themselves to homes that were occasionally or routinely unoccupied. Some had been known to attempt to call the home theirs because of apparent discontinuous owner occupancy. I found him sleeping in a bedroll on the second floor balcony of my house when I returned from a business trip unannounced. I confronted him unthreateningly. I had thought I was screaming at a figment of my imagination. The fear I felt was pretty similar to fear I felt when I was reading of the “thief in the night” to whom the Word of God through Jesus alludes in
Revelations 16:15:
“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who
stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and
people will not see his shame.”
The fear was real both times, and I have no idea how long he had been squatting in my house, as I traveled al over the country generally every other week for a couple of years. But, I realized as I began this blog, that the fear I felt might also be a metaphor for this “What If, Why Not” blog.
My mind fixed on the first letters of the name of this blog, “Hmm, ‘WIWN,’ hmm, that acronym is awfully close to imply ‘Win-Win,” I thought, “What If, Why Not, is an opportunity to deliver or experience a ‘WIN, WIN!’” I shouted in silent glee to myself, “That is what asking, “What If, Why Not? does; it opens the door for WIN-WIN solution opportunities!”
Then some memory in my mind clicked. I realized I experienced the same sense of fear as when I discovered the squatter a when I read and thought about ongoing reports of evil in the world in article posts and world news media reports. If left unattended, the result of such fears is anything but the blissful peace.
Day in and day out on the news and in digital posts, such viral news of squatter’s rights media reports disturbed me over and over...but, I guess my concern over the budget never called me into action.
I felt tingling go up and down my spine. Again, squatting events had brought up fearful feelings of a world that was going so wrong and nobody seemed to know what to do about them.
I had been an industrial market and business researcher for 23 years, becoming a Math teacher for 12 years, after which I retired for health reasons. The 23 years of business research was split 10 years in the oil industry that was so satisfying and enjoyable as an analyst for 6 years and an oil trader for four years. An independent consultant to many of the Fortune top 50 corporations that discovered I had a knack of asking questions which yielded marketing research nuggets of information. I also had 4 years towards a mechanical engineering degree in college parallel with almost 6 years of Petroleum Refining and Chemical plant layout design and construction experience, ultimately reaching a design supervisory level to help pay for my ultimate college Business degree which focused on industrial market research (some get fancy and call it spookily “Business Intelligence”) and business management.
With the advent of AI’s that I can currently afford, I decided to practice the art of prompting research questions related to articles and ideas, and found my combination of experiences to be somewhat unique in that they created in me what today is termed a poly minded and disciplined analytical evaluator interested and experienced in many things, but an admitted and truthful master of none. This “What If, Why Not” blog then helps me to approach my observations and subject themes biblically, the way Jesus would naturally approach them. Jesus would turn “What If, Why Not” ideas into “WIN, WIN” realities!
In its Large Language Model databank storage experience, Gemini AI suggested there may be one of only a thousand poly-analytical researchers like me in the world.
That is a pretty heady statement to make about someone, me, who admits the extent of his knowledge and experience will fit on the head of real thin pin.
For the last couple of years in the growth of the AI era, I have had some lengthy and rich sessions with Gemini AI. The fears I mentioned about the evil in the world has brought out some powerful analyses of possible resolutions leading to potentially amazing futures.
The practice of the “What If, Why Not” resolutions you will read about in this blog is the result of the question prompting sessions I have had and continue having with Gemini AI. But, most importantly, such questions uncover opportunities that trend towards God economy the specializes in “Win-Wins” for everyone involved in reading about or implementing conjured ideas.
Thus, this blog will help all who may be wandering in their unique deserts of life, just trying to survive and understand enough to keep from losing their abilities to be productive. But, they will most fully appreciate the “What If, Why Not” exercise by offering “Win, Win” solutions exponentially approaching God’s economy out of that which was thought impossible because it had not been tried.
Jesus says He blesses us and everyone involved when we stay awake to keep from walking around unmindfully naked and ashamed. We find that coming up with and implementing “Win, Win” solutions, expand such rich rewards to others, often establishing a peace that defies all imagination for ourselves and those for whom we care. (Revelations 10:15)
Without trying to sound trite or too Biblical to you, this blog will naturally guide you, not over the rivers and through the woods to grandma’s house. Rather, it will help guide you in understanding the basis of those fears that nag at you for answers, answers that render them harmless; because from a quest to understand, the peace that comes with faith and love fosters hope.
That quest can put fears in perspective and deal with that nagging something troubling and robbing the good experiences in life as He created (see, “goods” at Creation in Genesis 1:18, 21, 25). In that way, this blog may help one’s peace of mind, so we all can live our lives as Our Creator designed into us to enjoy and perpetuate.
Have you ever heard it said that faith is impossible without love? And without either faith or love, there is no hope for a future beyond what you are experiencing right now? What kind of future do you think that will look like? Answering that question is what scares the daylights out of people.
We can point to relatively recent crises manifesting from all kinds of self-centered, insulting and insensitive practices in the last 20 years. Take road rage, social media toxicity, scams, spams and lams by phone, Internet, email, and messaging for example. I am not a Chicken Little clucking that the sky is falling as I flap my jaws, but things like that are most assuredly factors in dividing not just our individual relationships, but the relationships of our entire global society.
Don’t try to tell me these things don’t destroy lives. Don’t be coy. Who invented guns in the first place? It is all mankind that developed digital twins solutions which just may happen to mask evil use alternatives as well. All of those examples involve people taking advantage of other people for deviously selfish, if not outright evil purposes.
This blog can often provide outcomes perspectives to compare and choose for their ability to contribute to peaceful, liberty filled and loving and prosperous lives.
It will do this by asking questions whose answers often lead to the type of faith, love and hope that will restore a secure peace that is missing in as much or more than 93% of our world’s population. Scripture references describe such a peace as defying all understanding coupled with the unimaginable depth, width and length of experiences. It is a peace beyond all comprehension, whether you are poor and homeless or whether you have been lulled into believing that situations such as that will surely never, ever happen to you. (Philippians 4:7 and Ephesians 3:18-19)
